Porter & Sayles
Porter & Sayles
Porter & Sayles, the collaboration of singer/songwriters Christian Porter and Regina Sayles, allure their audience with a crossover between Country, Folk-Rock and a side of southern crooning. Porter blends the raw folk tones of Wesley Schultz of The Lumineers, the pop styling of Jason Mraz and the soulful warmth of Phillip Phillips. Sayles has a strong, lovely voice that at once calls to mind freejazz Joni Mitchell as well as smooth and smoky Karen Carpenter and rocking Sheryl Crow.
Prior to Porter & Sayles, Christian and Regina were established solo artists but after accompanying one another on respective solo shows, the musical chemistry between them was clear. Between eclectic instrumentation and lyrical collaboration, the duo creates a sonic fusion of pop, folk, rock and country.
Christian Porter jump-started his career after appearing on Season 4 of NBC’s “The Voice” and Regina Sayles attributes her success to over 100 shows a year and her very loyal and adoring fan base. After teaming up in tandem with their solo careers, Porter & Sayles officially took shape after they released their first original song “I’m Just Gonna Go”, which led to the opening of Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo’s 35th Anniversary Tour.
Since the release of their critically lauded self-titled debut studio album in July 2016, the duo released a holiday EP including their original song, “This Time of Year,” along with unique arrangements of other holiday classics such as, “Last Christmas”, “Little Drummer Boy” and “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas.” Last year brought the release of “#IAmOne”, as a single and music video in response to the shootings in Parkland, Florida as well as “Buckled Up in Drive” produced by Ryan Hadlock in conjunction with their nationally televised appearance at the Pocono Raceway last summer.
In the past three years, Porter & Sayles have also opened for The Steve Miller Band, Dan + Shay, Frankie Ballard, Los Lonely Boys and have performed their original work all over the US.
